If you haven't heard, there are a few rumors going around that Hasbro and WeLoveFine are either changing the name, voice, personality, or removing entirely the character of Derpy. D:
This is due to the backlash Hasbro has received from a few people who are insulted at the premise that Derpy has "mental disabilities." These people seriously need to chill.
Let's keep our beloved heroine of Bronies as she is. Derpy is the symbol of our totally awesome relationship between fanbase and creator. We shouldn't let her be erased due to some peoples negligence of this connection.
The thing is, the studio and Hasbro knows how much we love Derpy, so I'm sure this wasn't done out of spite to us. And neither I nor anyone else can say why it was done, or who did this or that. There are some things we can't understand, and probably won't understand. Don't point fingers. Don't hate. And don't hate on the people who have a different opinion. Take a deep breath and be cool. Eat some muffins. Feel free to sign the edited petition. Derpy forever.
The petition about Derpy's recent "un-development" is here-[link]
Haha I love what you did with the Rosie the Riveter poster. But why are they taking out Derpy? She's just your standard comic relief and doesn't seem particularly offensive.
Some people seem to think she is apparently, and although I believe the people who think her voice is offensive are overreacting a little bit too much, I think Hasbro made the safest decision to keep the naysayers pacified. Personally I wish it didn't have to be that way but there's enough drama flying around anyways.
Lets All Make a LOOONG Petition about how much derpy means to us and then we can all send it to them to show HOW MUCH we want derpy back and how much she means to us <3
i honestly don't care if she's removed
